Vinay Rai is a popular Tamil film actor and model. Tamil movie, Unnale Unnale released in 2007 marked his screen debut for which he received a nomination at Vijay Film awards. Next year he debut Telugu with Vaana. Jayamkondaan (2008), Modhi Vilayadu (2009), Dam 999 (2011), Mirattal (2012), Onbadhule Guru (2013) and Endrendrum Punnagai (2013) are his released projects. Aranmanai, Senthatti Kaalai Sevatha Kaalai and Iruvar Ullam are his upcoming projects in Tamil. He gained attention through the English movie, Dam 999 and Jayamkondaan and Unnale Unnale other noted works.

Vinay Rai hails from the city of Bangalore. He was born on February 24, 1978. He started his career as a model and has done ramp walks for many leading brands. Director Jeeva's Unnale Unnale marked his screen debut where he worked aside Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee. He was its lead actor. The movie was a commercial hit and gave more offers to him. He also received a nomination for best promising actor at Vijay film awards. It was followed by his Telugu debut through the movie Vaana the following year and it was a flop at box office. With the success of Tamil film, Jayamkondaan, he stayed in Tamil film industry.

In 2009, he appeared in Saran's Modhi Vilayadu alongside Kajal Aggarwal which failed at box office. Then two of his movies, Veelle and Nootruku Nooru were not released. He came back with the English movie, Dam 999 where he played the role of an English man. Mirittal opposite Sharmiela Mandre and Onbadhule Guru were average hits at box office. Endrendrum Punnagai was his latest release in 2013, where he worked aside Jiiva and Trisha Krishnan and it received good response from critics and public.
