Unoosha Biography 
Unoosha is a Maldivian female singer and lyricist who made her Bollywood debut with 2012 Pooja Bhatt-directed erotic thriller film Jism 2. She rendered her voice for the popular song Hey Walla composed by Abdul Basit Sayeed. She got her break to Bollywood when she attended South Asian Film Festival, which was held in Goa. She was spotted by Pooja Bhatt who got attracted to her unusual voice and used her voice to record an English song for her next flick – Jism 2. Unoosha also penned English lyrics aside Sayeed. Unoosha has recorded her second song in Bollywood - "Kahaan Se Karen Shuru", which happens to be her first Hindi song.
Mariyam Unoosha is her full name and she was born in 1985 in Male, Maldives. Both her parents belonged to the famous band of 1990s - " Olympians". Inherited music from her parents, she too pursued music as her career. Her parents Naseer and Shafeega are regarded as music legends of Maldives. Since young Unoosha started singing and won first prize of "The inter School Music Competition" in a row. She was the first female singer to win the competition three times. Very soon she got offer from the music band Amazon Jade. She joined the troupe at the age of 15-16 and worked with the band for the next four years.
During her successful career she has performed live in many countries and released many private albums too. She owns over 100 studio recordings in her name. In 2012 she made her Bollywood playback debut through Jism 2. She has been an official ambassador of an international coffee brand Nescafe, the only singer to receive this designation.
