Tejashwi Yadav Biography

Tejashwi Yadav is a politician associated with Rashtriya Janata Dal of Bihar. He is a former cricketer too. He belongs to a very famous political family of Bihar. He is the son of well-known politician and former cabinet minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi. Born into a strong political family, his siblings too are associated with politics. Her siblings – Misha Bharti and Tej Pratap Yadav, and brother-in-law Tej Pratap Singh Yadav too are prominent names in state and national level politics. His mother Rabri Devi has remained as Bihar chief minister, while his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav is known for his state & national level politics and linked with a few scams. His elder sister Misa is currently a member of Rajya Sabha.

 

Tejashwi Yadav hails from the most prominent political family of Bihar. He was born to former Bihar chief ministers, Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi. He was born as the second child to his parents on 9 November 1989 in Gopalganj, Bihar. He is a school drop-out who studied till class 9. He has served as Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, for which he was heavily criticized for not having proper education. In 2017, a case of corruption has been registered by CBI against Yadav family.

 

Yadav dabbled with politics and cricket during his teens and younger days. He has played Ranji trphy matches as a middle order batsman. He was also a team member of IPL team, Delhi Daredevils for its 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 Indian Premier League seasons, though he didn’t play any match. He was elected to state assembly for the first time in 2015 representing Rashtriya Janata Dal, and served as the deputy Chief Minister during 2015-17.
