Tania Tarannam Biography
Tania Tarannam is a young and promising musician from the eastern state of Assam. She is a singer, musician and songwriter associated with independent music, and established her as a leading young artist from Assam during her teens. Her Assamese solo album featuring Manas Robin and Zubeen Garg, titled Hiyat Tejore Noi was released in 2014. She has collaborated and released many music albums like Local Piriti (2004), Tumi Hoba Mur Koina (2004), Ismail Jai Kurbaani Loi (2004), Rangdhaali Suwaalir Mon (2008) and Ore Piya (2012). She also sings in English, Arabic,Bengali, Spanish and Thai languages.
Tania Tarannam was born in Dibrugarh, Assam. She was born on 3 August 1992. She started singing from an early age of 3, and identifying her musical talents, her parents gave her musical training at a very young age. She took formal training of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music under Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith. Later she took music as the main subject for graduation, and completed her graduation in music from Kanakali Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in 2006. Right from school days she actively participated in singing contests and won many prizes as well. During her colleges, she received Gold Medal in Western Singing Contest held during the Guwahati University Youth Festival. For higher studies she pursued English Literature.
Over the years Tania Tarannam collaborated with many leading musicians of North-east like Mahendra Hazarika, Manas Robin, Barnali Kalita, Joy Chakraborty etc for independent musical projects. In 2012 she released her first Hindi album titled Ore Piya. The album comprised of 8 singles of Tania, composed by Joy Chakroborty. The album was only the second musical album launched by Times Music. In 2014 she released her first Assamese solo album, Hiyat Tejore Noi.
