Shalmali Kholgade Biography 
Shalmali Kholgade is an upcoming playback singer of Bollywood, known for the song Pareshaan of Ishaqzaade. This particular song marked her debut in Bollywood and earned her numerous appreciation as well as awards including Filmfare award for best playback singer female. She is a versatile singer who sings both in Hindi as well as English. Daaru Desi from film Cocktail and “Aga Bai" from Aiyaa are her next noted songs. Lat Lag Gayi from the movie Race 2 and Balam Pichkari from the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani too were instant hits.
Shalmali Kholgade was born on January 31, 1988 in Mumbai. She started earning music at the age of 8 from her mother and began performing at the age of 16. Her mother Uma Kholgade is an Indian classical singer and theater personality. Later she learnt from Shubhada Paradkar and joined L.A. Music Academy though she couldn’t complete the course for her commitments. She debut playback singing with Pareshaan of Ishaqzaade, a romantic hit and the music was given by Amit Trivedi.
Shalmali also performs live in many stage shows including foreign countries. She has been a professional singer from Mumbai for many years and has performed as a soloist with a Latvian troupe in a Cabaret named Bombaloo which toured many countries like Moscow, Russia, Yerevan and Armenia. She debut Telugu with the song "Preminchaa.." for the movie Toofan. She has also sung a couple of songs for Tamil movies including recent hit movie Raja Rani. The song is "Oday Oday..". She has also sang the song Raja Raja for Naan Rajavaga Pogiren and both these movies were released in 2013.
She has also debut Bengali and Marathi. The single song Pareshaan gave her numerous awards including Best Female Playback Singer at Filmfare, Star screen, Star Guild Awards, TOIFA Awards and Zee Cine awards. She also won multiple nomination for the same song.
