Savani Ravindra Biography

Savani Ravindra is a well-known singer belonging to Marathi entertainment industry. Her name is also pronounced as Savaniee Ravindrra, and her full name is Savani Ravindra Ghangurde Dhande. She hails from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Apart from filmy songs she is also associated with Hindustani vocals and ghazals. Along with Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, she has also performed on stage aside many legends of Indian music like Suresh Wadkar, Ravindra Jain, Uttara Kelkar and Shridhar Phadke. She has also performed aside singers of present-day generation. She recorded her first Bollywood song, a romantic duet with Mohammad Irfaan. Savani also recorded a Tamil song “Vennilavin salaigalil”.

 

Savani Ravindra hails from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. She was born on 22 July 1989 as the daughter of Dr. Ravindra Ghangurde and Dr. Vandana Ghangurde. Both her parents are singers. She completed her schooling from Fergusson College, Pune. She also took training in classical music since young. She trained in Hindustani music under Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure, and ghazals from Ravi Date. As a singer she came to limelight for the first time after she appeared as a contestant for the singing reality show, 2011 IDEA Saregama Singers. She finished one among the 5 top singers and she came to limelight.

 

As a playback singer she has rendered her voice for several Marathi films. Her songs are included in Marathi films like Kuni Ghar Deta Ka Ghar (2013), Ajintha (2012), Ajab Lagnachi Gajab Gosht (2010) etc. "Tu Mala Mi Tula Gungunu Laglo” – a duet with Mangesh Borgaonkar is one of her popular Marathi songs. Apart from films she has also rendered her voice for Marathi TV serials such as the title song of 'Kamala'. In 2018 she made her acting debut through a web series ‘Galimaar’ on youtube , produced by Aditi Dravid. Savani has started a YouTube channel called Savani unplugged, where she uploads unplugged versions of her favourite songs.
