Rajhesh Vaidhya Biography 
Rajhesh Vaidhya is an accomplished Veena player and composer from Tamil Nadu. Apart from his solo and performances in collaborations, he has also worked for Indian movies with many leading music composers like Illayaraja, Rahman, Vidyasagar, Harris Jayaraj, Bharathwaj, Deva, Devi Sri Prasad, Srikanth Dev etc. He is a recipient of the Kalaimamani Award 2010, the highest honour given to artists by Tamil Nadu government for their outstanding contributions to art and music. ‘Temptations’, Hurricane, Rampage, d Voyage I, II, Freak, Churaliya etc are some of his music albums, apart from classic Thyagaraja and Bharatiyaar keerthans. He received the honorable title - “ Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peeta Aasthana Vidwan “ in 2001.
He also acted in the movie Viswa Thulasi and in one tele-serial – Premi, directed by K. Balachander. He also composed music for K. Balachander's television series, Sahana – the sequel of his own classic Tamil hit movie Sindhu Bhairavi. He has also performed with artists across the globe, Sir Elton John being one noticed name. He got privilege to learn veena from renowned artist Chitti Babu. Apart from performing in several countries, he has also performed with an experimental dance troupe based in Switzerland. His veena playing is distinguished by his use of electric or amplified strings.
He was born in 1973 into a family with rich music tradition. His father K.M. Vaidyanathan was a rhythm stalwart both in mridangam and ghatam. Jeyalakshmi was his first guru, followed by Rama Nambinarayanan who taught him Saraswathi Veena, followed by Veena maestro Chitti Babu. Sharadha, Alaigal, Nilavai Pidippom, Marakka Mudiyuma, Pudayal, MarmaDesam, Anni, Veettukku veedu Lootty, Enna satham inda naeram, Mughangal, Sahaana and Vikramaaditya are some of the television shows for which he composed music.
