Prem Joshua Biography 
Prem Joshua is a musician and flautist associated with Hindustani music. He is of German origin. Joshua learned the flute at the age of five, and has played flute and saxophone for various bands over the years. Joshua is his birth name given by his parents, and he added ‘Prem’ tag, which means ‘Love’ in Hindi and other Indian languages. He came to India for the first time at the age of 18, as a part of his efforts to study indigenous folk music of different countries across the globe. He is fully active in the field of music since 1991.
Prem Joshua was born in Germany. He started learning music, especially flute and saxophone at a very young age and later worked in various musical bands before he moved to India to study traditional music in deep. Reached India at the age of 18, Joshua learned sitar from Ustad Usman Khan. He was also inspired with Osho. Since then he has experimented with different kinds of music, fusing east with west. He also remixed his own compositions. He experimented with drum and bass, lounge, and trance, keeping Hindustani music as base.
He is best known for his contributions towards Asian Underground and fusion scene of music. As a band member he has been associated with Runa Rizvi, Robin Mattuck, Satgyan Fukuda and Raul Sengupta, producing music of different kinds. He released his first album No Goal But The Path - with Terra Incognita in 1991, followed by more than 20 works. His most recent work is Breath of Voavah, released in 2017. He is currently active with his live performances in India and abroad.
