Pratyush Prakash Biography

Pratyush Prakash is an Indian lyricist and poet from Odisha. He shot to fame after being featured under the 'Best Original Song' category in the Oscar Contention List 2014, for Kamasutra 3D.  Five songs from Rupesh Paul’s multilingual film – Kamasutra 3D was placed among the list of 75 songs in the list. “Saawariya” is his personal favourite. As a lyricist he started his career at the age of 18 for a private album. Prakash is one of the youngest lyricists of Bollywood whose work has been nominated in Oscars. Currently he is an instructional designer, working for Origin Solutions Private Limited. He personally adores Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrics.

 

He belongs to a middle class joint family of Odisha. He has one elder sister and his uncle and family also forms a part of his joint family. He has been quite emotional since younger days, and belongs to the group who may burst into tears for TV soaps. But he loved cracking jokes and he has been a good mimic too. A great foodie, he loves to eat any kind of food. Bathroom singing and bathroom shouting are his hobbies. He loved writing as well. He wrote a poem on his lost childhood while studying in class 9, and he received encouragement from his father. That’s how he got into writing poems and songs.

 

At the age of 17, he penned lyrics for an album, sung by Supriya Rajaram. The song was Mil Ja. He completed Automobile Engineering at Bharath University, Chennai in the year 2013. He worked as an Instructional Designer before his debut to films at the age of only 22. His second release was ‘X’ (2014). He also penned lyrics for the song - "Mujhe Roshni Nahi Dekhni”.
