Parminder Singh Dhindsa Biography 
Parminder Singh Dhindsa is an Indian politician and former state minister from the state of Punjab. He belongs to Shiromani Akali Dal. He served as the Minister for Finance & Planning during 2012-2017 and Public Works Minister during 2007-2012 in state government of Punjab. He is the son of veteran Punjabi politician and leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa who currently serves his second term in Rajya Sabha. Parminder’s father has been most recently honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2019 for his contributions towards the field of public affairs.
Parminder Singh Dhindsa was born into a political family as the son of veteran SAD leader and parliamentarian, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. He is a former union minister and currently Secretary General of Shiromani Akali Dal. Parminder Singh Dhindsa holds an MBA degree from Punjabi University, Patiala. Prior to his MBA degree, he completed his graduation in commerce from Chandigarh. His wife Gagandeep Kaur Dhindsa is also an active political worker associated with Shiromani Akali Dal.
Parminder joined active politics in the 1990s and was appointed as General Secretary of Youth Akali Dal in 1998. Since then for the past two decades, he remains as a young active leader of the party, serving many distinct posts within party and state level politics. He got elected to state assembly for the first time in 2000 in a by- election held due to sudden demise Bhagwan Dass Arora. He retained the seat of Sunam in 2002, 2007 and 2012 state assembly elections as well. He got elected to state assembly in 2017 elections as well, when he defeated Former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal of Congress party.
