Nisa Azeezi Biography 
Nisa Azeezi is a Ghazal and Qawwali singer from Malappuram, Kerala. She has received training in Hindustani music in different branches/schools. She is currently taking Hindustani Vocal Training under Ustad Rafique Khan of Dharwad Gharana/Gwalior gharana. She has earlier trained in Kirana gharana under Ustad Fayaz Ahemed Khan and Jaipur-Atrauli gharana under Ustad Umer Bhai. Though she is trained in three gharanas of Hindustani music, she also performs in Ghazal and Qawwali forms of music. She was the first ever Muslim student to pass out from Chembai Memorial Government Music College.
She was born on 16 April 1970 into a Muslim family in Malappuram, Kerala. Aranadan language is her mother tongue, spoken predominantly in the Malappuram District of Kerala and only a few hundreds of people are using this language for common communication. She was initiated to the Hindustani classical music by her father, MA Azeez, who is a vocalist and musician. Young Nisa used to accompany her father in music concerts in Malappuram music circle. She started singing at the age of 8. She also got an opportunity to sing at Kalpathi Ratholsavam during the period. After that she took music seriously.
To pursue a career in the field of music, she enrolled at Chembai Memorial Government Music College, where she learnt Carnatic music and completed Ganabhooshanam course. She later started her career as a music teacher. Currently she works in MES Muslim Educational Society Senior Secondary school, Tirur. Apart from learning Carnatic music, she also took advanced learning in Hindustani music in different gharanas from different gurus, following a particular tradition. Her Ya Moula is the first sufi Rock album in Malayalam.
In 2010 she composed and rendered her voice for the album, Ethra Madhuramaay Padunnu nee. Jazba E Dil (2008) and Ya Moula (2012) are her other albums. She has also released many singles, and has sung for other composers.
