Neha Kapur Biography

Neha Kapur is an Indian model and Femina Miss India 2006. In the contest she won Miss Fresh Face and Miss Photogenic titles as well. She represented India in Miss Universe contest same year and managed to finish among the top 16. She is a trained classical dancer of Kathak and Bharatnatyam. She is married to famous British Indian television actor Kunal Nayyar, who became immensely playing the character of Raj Koothrappali on CBS sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory’. They got married in 2011.

She was born in Delhi in 1984 in a Punjabi family. She started learning classical art forms at a younger age. She trained Bharatnatyam for 4 years and Kathak for 8 years. She also took a degree in fashion design from the Pearl Academy. Out of 26 participants from all over the country, 22 year old Neha was chosen as Femina Miss India in the year 2006. The beauty pageant was held at Mumbai and Mini Mathur and R. Madhavan were the star anchors of the show. The question asked in the final round was 'Does the society influence Bollywood or Bollywood influence society?' and all the 5 finalists were asked to give answer in 19 seconds. Neha was crowned Miss India, while Natasha Suri and Amruta Patki were given Miss India World and Miss India Earth titles.

Since 2002, she has been a model at Elite Model Management and has done several ramp shows. She has been an established model since her assignment with Elite. She has not participated in any recognized fashion shows before Miss India contest 2006.
