Neeta Sen Biography 
Neeta Sen was an Indian Hindustani classical singer and music composer of Bengali. Pahari Phool, Rokto Joba, Nandan (1979), Sita (1980), Golap Bou (1977), Sonar Bangla (1982) and Baba Loknath (1994) are her noted works as a music director. Oh go Nayoner Abir, Mon Jodi Kono Din Projapoti Hoye Jay, Chokhe Chokh Rekhe and Tomar Du Chokh Pujor Prodip hole are among her most popular songs. She briefly worked in Bollywood as well. In the last phase of her life, she dedicated her work to compose devotional films, television serials and music albums. She passed away in the year 2006 aged 71.
Neeta Sen was born in the year 1935 to Jagadish Bardhan and Abha Bardhan. She started her career through All India Radio, Kolkata. Boshonto Bela, Amaye bhulbe ki, Maloti, Akash Golpo Bole and Jonakir Deep Gulo are among her popular songs as a singer. She focused on modern Bengali music during the first phase of her music career. In 1977, she achieved commercial success with the Bengali movie, Baba Taraknath. The movie was directed by A K Chatterjee. Krishna Bhakta Sudhama, Rokto Joba, Nandan, Golap Bou and Sita were among her next noted works. The movie, 'Pahari Phool’ is still regarded as her one among the best with memorable songs sung by Manna Dey, Arati Mukherjee and Arundhati Holme Chowdhury. She worked in Mumbai briefly post marriage before moving back to Kolkata.
She worked closely with renowned Bengali lyricist Gouri Prasanna Majumdar. After his death, she founded Gouriprasanna Smriti Samsad to keep his memory alive. She is also known as a music teacher and many noted vocalists have been trained under her. Sreeradha Banerjee and Ruprekha Chatterjee are two such big names.
