Nakul Abhyankar Biography

Nakul Abhyankar is an Indian playback singer and music composer who predominantly works in south Indian cinema. He owns many chartbuster hits to his credit in the recent times. He has rendered his voice for all the 5 south Indian languages including Tulu. Among all regional languages, he is most popular with Tamil songs, which include - "Neeli Kanumallo" from Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, "CEO in the House" from Sarkaar, “Azhage” from Action etc.

 

He received training in jazz singing at KM Music Conservatory and was also a part of A.R. Rahman's jazz band, Nafs. Most recent he sang all male version songs for Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions of children’s animated film, Frozen 2. He is also a music composer who scored songs for 2019 Kannada thriller film, Kannad Gothilla.

 

Nakul Abhyankar was born on 25 May 1990 in Belthangady, Karnataka. He completed B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in 2012. As he wanted to pursue a career in the field of music, he completed Diploma in Music from Middlesex University, London at KM Music Conservatory in 2016. He was already trained in Hindustani and Carnatic music. After completing diploma in music, he became a part of Rahman’s musical band, Nafs.

 

He got his first break to playback singing through "Usiragu Baare" song from the movie, Janma in 2013. He also recorded the song, "Yavatthu Hingagilla" from Rajanikantha composed by Arjun Janya and "Usireega Marethanthe" from Chella Pilli composed by Mikku Kavil same year. Later he recorded songs for movies – Rose, Amanusha, Rang, Icre Cream, Melkote Manja, Selfie, Buckasura, Manasa, Selfie, Melkote Manja etc. He also composed songs for movies and independent albums.
