Nahid Afrin Biography 
Nahid Afrin is an Indian playback singer associated with Bollywood and Assamese movies. She hails from Assam. She marked her Bollywood debut in 2016 singing for Sonakshi Sinha starrer Akira. She was also a participant in the 2015 edition of Indian Idol Junior, which brought her to limelight for the first time. She finished as the runner-up of the reality show, losing only in the final round. She was also the runner-up of Kid’s reality show, Little Champs North-East in 2013. She was most recently appointed as the first 'Youth Advocate' of the north-eastern region by UNICEF India in December 2018. Its main aim is to fight for child rights in the country.
This young singer was born in Assam in year 2001. Biswanath Chariali is her hometown. Anower Ansari and Fatema Ansari are her parents, and she was born into a Muslim family. She has one younger brother. Her father is an engineer working in the government sector. She started singing at the age of three. Biblee Bhagawati was her first guru in music. She also studied music at Bhatkhande Kala Kendra in Assam. She completed her schooling from Little Star School, Biswanath Chariali.
After learning music, she started performing on stage at a very young age, and apart from his mother tongue Assamese, she also sings Hindi, Western, Bengali and some local languages. Acting, drawing and table tennis are her other favourite activities. She gained recognition for the first time through Indian Idol Junior in 2015 and finished as runner-up. She also bagged her first film offer through Akira composed by Vishal Dadlani. She sang both original and remixed versions of Rajj Rajj Ke. She also sang a few Assamese film songs after that.
