K. Kalyan Biography 
K. Kalyan is a lyricist and music director working since last 20 years predominantly in Kannada cinema. He is popularly called as "Premakavi" for his foot tapping music and inspiring lyrics on romantic themes. He is also known for promoting new talents in Kannada film industry. As a music director, his popular movies are Kalasipalya, Preeti, prema, pranaya, Kotigobba, Kanasugara, Chitra, Akash, Huccha, Nammoora mandara hoove, Aa dinagalu, Tananam tananam, Amruthavarshini, Chandramukhi pranasakhi, Appu and Abhi.
In his music career, he has won numerous awards as a lyricist as well as music director. He has won 3 state awards, 2 Filmfare and 8 Aryabhata Awards. He has written lyrics for over 2400 songs including film songs, television serial songs and music albums. He has penned lyrics for nearly 410 movies. K.Kalyan has worked with more than 77 legendary music directors also, indeed a unique record! "Manase O Manase" (Chandramukhi Pranasakhi) and "Savi Savi Nenapu" (My Autograph) are his recent hits.
Kalyan was born on 1 January 1975. He learnt classical music from Channakrishnappa. He worked as an assistant to the legendary music director Sri. Hamsalekha. He entered music industry as a music director at the age of 16. Through the romantic songs he composed he became one of the successful music directors of the industry and completed 20 years. He received Karnataka state awards for best music director for the movie, Chandramukhi pranasakhi in 1999. As a lyricist he won it twice - Preethi prema pranaya – 2003 and Ganga kaveri - 2008. He won Filmfare award twice – As Best Music director for Chandramukhi pranasakhi (1999) and as best lyricist for Tananam tananam – 2006. Chatrapathi Shivaji state award, Akashvani National award, Kannada chitra rasikara award and Kannada chitra premi award are other honours received by him.
