Jayadevi Jangamshetti Biography 
Jayadevi Jangamshetti is a Hindustani classical music vocalist of Jaipur Gwaliar gharana. She hails from Karnataka. She is credited as the first female music director of Kannada cinema. She composed the music of the movie, Raag Bhairavi, based on Indian ragas to own this credit. The movie was released in 2019. She is a live performer on stage and also has released numerous records and albums. She is also a playback singer. Apart from Hindustani classical Vocal, she also performs Semi Classical singer and light music.
Dr. Jayadevi Jangamashetti hails from Raichur, Karnataka. She received early classical training under the guidance of Pt. Panchakshari Swami Mattigatti for 6 years. She continued training in Hindustani music under Jayashree Patnekar at Belagavi and Pt. Rajashekhar Mansoor, son of great Mallikarjuna Mansoor. As she was more interested to pursue a career in the field of music, she took Master’s degree in Music and earned a doctorate for the research of 'Vachana singing heritage' from the Karnataka University. She also has completed Vidwat, Visharada.
As a performer she got opportunity to perform in some of the leading music festivals of India as well as abroad. She has performed at DR Mallikarjun Mansur Rashtreeya Sangeetotsav Dharwad, Horanadu Kannadigara Sangeethothsava, Pondicherry, V.K. Gokak's centenary celebration at Kendra Sahitya Academy, New Delhi etc and many more. She released numerous records under the label - Lahari Audio Company, and also a few more music companies.
She received Bharat Ratna Bismilla Khan Yuva Puraskara Chennai, Cultural Guru Award by Govt Bala Vikasa Academy, Mallikarjun Mansur Rashtriya Samman - Youth Award and many more honours. She has authored one book on renowned musician Siddharama Jambaladinni.
