Damodar Raao Biography 
Damodar Raao is a musician and singer associated with Bhojpuri music. He has composed music for more than 70 Bhojpuri films apart from a few in Hindi. He has also released non-filmy albums and rendered his voice for many number of songs. He is also known as a Music producer, and live Performer. He is excellent in fusing acoustic folk with Indian classical music to produce some amazing song compositions. He is composing music for the upcoming Hindi film - "Dream City Mumbai" and "Ye Hai Yuva Aandolan", apart from a few Bhojpuri films including Dahshat, Maai Ke Karz, Pyaar Ka Mandir, Rangdaari Tax, Gunday, Bhojpuriya Super Star etc. Raao is one of the popular and busy composers of Bhojpuri film music at present.
Raao was born in West Champaran district of Bihar on 21 August 1977. His Father Ramdhani Rao was a folk singer. Raao too followed his father’s footsteps to earn recognition in this field. He does fusion music combining folk and classical. After graduation he studied at a music college. During his teens he also took formal learning in Bettiah Raj Gharana of music from Pt. Keshav Kumar Mishra since 1992. He got his first break in 2000 through the Hindi song - "Shaitan Tantrik”. The music was composed by Nikhil-Vinay. In 2007 he reached Mumbai and had a struggling period later.
In 2008 he composed music for the Hindi B-grade film - "Gorakh Dhandha". After that he sang for many albums. Raao gained recognition through 2012 single - Bharat Ko Bachana Hi Hoga Modi Ko Lana Hi Hoga. There was no turning back and till now has done music for more than 70 films. Raao has also composed songs for movies belonging to Maithili, Nepali, Punjabi, Hariyanvi, Gujarat and Marathi languages.
