Bijilal Biography 
Bijilal Maniyil, popularly known as Bijilal is a national award winning music director from Malayalam. He won National award in the year 2013, for the best background score of Malayalam movie – Kaliachan. He won Kerala state awards also, for the same movie. He is also known as a playback singer of Malayalam. In 2012, he won Kerala state awards for best background score for the movie – Ozhimuri. As a music director, his most movies include – Salt and pepper, Title song of Paleri manikyam: Oru pathira kolapaathakathinte katha, Kudumbasree Travels, Best actor, Kerala café, 5 Sundarikal (segment: Gowri), Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus, Da Thadiya, Jawan of Vellimala, Sevens, Violin, 22 Female Kottayam, Minnaminnikoottam, Arabikatha, Daddy cool, venicile vyapari, Passenger and Swa le. He has also released a Malayalam album named VascoDaGama.
Bijilal was born on May 21, 1973. He is a trained violinist and violin is his first love. He has played violin in many Carnatic concerts of Srividya, the late actress. He debut music direction in the year 2007 with the movie, Arabikatha. Thirike njaan varumenna, sung by Yesudas became an instant hit. Anil Panachooran, popular lyricist also debut with the same movie. He won Mullassery Raju Music Award for Best Music Director the same year. After that Bijilal received offers from Malayalam, both as a music director and background scorer. For a few movies, he did both music composition as well as background music.
As a music director, another popular work was Salt ‘n’ Pepper, for which he won Asiavision Movie Award for best music. All songs of the movie were instant hits. Kaanamullal, sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Ranjith, and ‘Chembaavu’ sung by Pushpavathy are the most popular ones. As a background scorer, his best works include – Kaliyachan, for which he won national award and a long list of movies including - Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus, Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, Romans, Paleri Manikyam, Bavuttiyude Namathil, 22 Female Kottayam, Thank you, Ozhimuri, 5 Sundarikal and Red wine.
