Ankur Bhatia Biography

Ankur Bhatia is a successful model and upcoming actor from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He played negative role in 2013 remake of Zanjeer. The same movie starring Ram Charan, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra in pivot roles was made in Telugu titled, Thoofan. In 2011, he played lead role in short film, Coconut Grove which earned him Best Actor Commendation Award at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Film Festival. He made his acting debut in the year 2010 through Mira Nair's production venture, "Grant St. Shaving Co." An actor born and brought up in Bhopal, Ankur currently resides in New York City. He made his Bollywood debut through Zanjeer in 2013, where he played the second villain Bosco, the right-hand man of Teja, the villain, played by Prakash Raj.

 

Ankur Bhatia was born on 24 May 1980 to Sateesh Bhatia and Kiran in Bhopal. He majored in computer science and later moved abroad for higher education. He took Master’s in Mathematics from USA and worked for 7 years in a consulting firm. Then he attended the New York Film Academy to learn Film making and Acting. Since childhood acting was his real passion. He went to NYFA and started working in independent films in New York. A Dirty Business, Rendered, Coming home and Grant St. Shaving Co are some such noted works.

 

He met Apoorva Lakhia a few years back while at New York. He promised a role for Ankur. He came to India in July 2012 to work in Zanjeer, the role offered by Lakhia. He did both the Hindi and Telugu versions of the movie. Though he is not a full-fledged model, he has acted in a commercial for Hyundai Eon in 2012. Telugu Film – Dillunodu by Jaya Ravindra is his upcoming movie.
