Alphons Joseph Biography 
Alphons Joseph is a successful playback singer and composer of Malayalam cinema. His first break as a music director was Vellithira (2003) which was noticed for the popular songs like Nee Manimukil and Pacha maanga. Now he is a playback singer of Tamil movies also. He earned popularity through the song "Aaromale" of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, composed by Rahman. He also does background scores for many movies. As a music director, his Malayalam movies are Pacha mara thanal, Big B, Manjupoloru Penkutti, Cocktail, Casanova, Cinema Company, Payyans, Aatmakatha and Electra. He is a judge in the Reality Show Amrita TV Superstar 2.
Alphons was born in 1973 in Kaachery near Nadathara, Thrissur in a musical family. Koladi Joseph was a tablist and a singer. But by profession, he was a KSEB sub-engineer. His mother was Thankamma. Alphons has 6 siblings among which, two are musicians – Joemon, a music composer and pianist and Paulson, a sitar exponent. He was introduced to music by his father's younger brother K. K. Paul, a famous violinist. Another musician Philip diverted Alphons to Western Classical Music and ghazals which proved successful too. Hence Alphons regards Philip as his mentor and guru. Alphons learnt Carnatic music from Mangad K. Nadesan. Later he earned Kala Prathibha award by Calicut University for the years 1990 and 1992. Currently he is doing post-graduation in Music.
He is one among the founders of Rexband, a gospel music band and has released a few albums. He is the lead guitarist and a vocalist of the band. From 2000 onwards, he started working as a composer and a sound engineer in Asia-net Radio 657AM, a radio station in Dubai. He debut with Bhadran’s Vellithira as a music director and owns many chartbuster songs in his credit.
