Ajay Singh Biography

Ajay Singh is an Indian politician from the state of Karnataka. He currently serves as an MLA representing Jewargi constituency. He is the son of Dharam Singh former Chief Minister of Karnataka, and is a member of Indian National Congress. He holds an MBBS degree and is the founder of an NGO, Accident Relief Care based in Bangalore. He is involved with social service since 2005. He was the Youth Congress General Secretary of Karnataka for 10 years since 1999. Since then he is fully active in politics and social work.

Dr. Ajay Singh was born in Gulbarga, Karnataka into a political family. His father Dharam Singh was a very influential politician of Karnataka, who served as CM too. Ajay Singh took MBBS from M.S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore in 1992. He is married to Shwetha Singh and has two children, one son and one daughter. He has been a medical doctor by profession and social worker before he turned active in state politics. Following his father’s footsteps he too reached the same world of politics. He got actively involved with the political activities of Jewargi since 1999 and also became the Youth Congress General Secretary of Karnataka.

He became KPCC member in the year 2005. After that he has been associated with election campaigns for his father. His father passed away in 2017. He won by-election from Gulbarga south in 2010. Since 2013 he serves as the Member of state legislative assembly of Jewargi, Gulbarga District till now. He has been a sportsperson too, associated with Tenpin Bowling. He has represented India at several international tournaments including Asian Championship, Bangkok 2003, World championship, Malaysia 2004 and Doha Asian Games, 2006.
