Adithyan Biography

Adithyan was a successful music composer and playback singer associated with Tamil cinema. He also composed background music for films. Though he was fully active in Tamil music industry, he composed songs for a few Telugu and Malayalam movies too. He also worked as a playback singer in the industry. He sang both his and other music directors’ compositions. He also released several Tamil Pop & Remix albums in India and Malaysia, apart from film music. Adithyan remained a successful TV host too, and his cookery show, 'Aadithyan's Kitchen' on Jaya TV was an instant hit. It was aired for long 8 years on television.

 

Adhithyan was a multi-facet personality who dabbed into different kinds of roles. Apart from being a successful music composer and singer, he succeeded as a TV host, painter and sound designer. He used to paint as passion, and was a self-taught artist. His paintings were bought by customers to decorate their walls. The musician is known for his numbers in films like Amaran and Seevalaperi Pandi, in the early 90s.

 

His real name is Titus. He was born on 9 April 1954 in Chennai. He started his career in films as a sound designer in the early 1990s. Very soon he got his first break through 1992 movie, Amaran (1992). The songs like "Vethala Potta" and "Chandirane Suriyane" became instant chartbusters. After his sensational debut as a music composer, he received more offers from films and he was active throughout 1990s. Kizhakku Mugam, Seevalaperi Pandi, Sivan, Kaama, Asuran, Kovilpatti Veeralakshmi, Lucky Man etc are a few more works.

 

He was not so active in profession towards the end of his life. He passed away on 5 December 2017 at the age of 63. He was undergoing treatment for kidney related issues in Hyderabad. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
