Abhishek Ray Biography 
Abhishek Ray is a music composer, producer and arranger who works in Bollywood. He also plays the roles of playback singer, instrumentalist etc. He has also done back vocals for Bollywood songs. As a film composer, some of his noted works include - Paan Singh Tomar, Welcome Back, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster, I Am Kalam, Shagird, Yeh Saali Zindagi, and Tera Kya Hoga Johnny. He has also composed singles for a few Bollywood films. Udaas Paani and Raat Chand Aur Main are his solo non-filmy albums.
Abhishek Ray hails from Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is associated with film and music industry since 2002. He made his debut in films with Tigmanshu Dhulia’s directorial venture, Haasil. After that he scored the music for television shows and several music albums, along with filmy music. His first album was Udaas Paani with Gulzar, and it was well received. Raat Chand Aur Main is yet another solo album of Ray. For his compositions he draws a lot of inspiration from Hindi literature. Apart from composing songs, he is an occasional singer and lyricist too.
In Paan Singh Tomar he blended central Indian folk with grand symphonies. The song Chand Taare from I Am Kalam used as promotion song was composed by Ray. He also composed the title track of Yeh Saali Zindagi and rendered his voice too. He got Shreya Ghoshal to render her first rock song in a Hindi film. The song featured in the release Prem Mayee and the song Palchinn belonged to hard rock category. Earlier duo has performed together on stage in a live unplugged rock concert. Her performance was well received and the song went viral over net. That’s why the composer came up an idea for doing a film rock song with the renowned singer.
