Abhishek Borkar Biography 
Abhishek Borkar is a young musician and sarod player. He is versatile, immensely talented and known for his innovations with tunes and music. Abhishek Borkar and his elder brother Praashekh Borkar are two of the youngest sarod players of in the country. He was initiated to the musical instruments at a very young age of 4 and he initially underwent training in vocal and tabla in Pune. Now he collaborates with young artists and vocalists of present generation to produce music, and his videos appears in YouTube and other social media sites. Abhishek Borkar has earned success in the recent times.
Abhishek Borkar hails from Pune, Maharashtra. He was born into a musical fmily. He was drawn to the sound of the sarod from a very early age. He started learning Hindustani music and sarod at the age of 4 and later started learning sarod under his father Shekhar Borkar, a renowned musician. He started learning sitar at the age of 7. His elder brother Praashekh was also trained by his father. Though he learnt different musical instruments as well as Hindustani vocals, Sarod, the string musical instrument fascinated him most. Both the siblings have won numerous music competitions in and around Maharashtra and later performed together on stage also.
He gave his first public performance at the age of ten years. He was a recipient of the C.C.R.T. Scholarship award from New Delhi. He also occasionally performs on the All India Radio, Pune. His first solo CD was released at a young age of 15 years. Today Abhishek’s renditions are characterized by a unique blend of the sarod, sitar, sarangi and vocal styles of Hindustani Music. Over the years he has performed in almost all leading music festivals of Maharashtra and other Indian states.
