Abhay Patil Biography

Abhay Patil is an Indian politician from the state of Karnataka. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently serves as Member of Legislative Assembly representing Belgaum Dakshin. He has earlier served as an MLA during 2004-2008 and 2009-2013 representing the same constituency. Abhay Patil’s political career began as a Karyakarta with BJP and has remained with the party since then. An influential and inspirational youth leader of the region, his activities are best known for promoting Cultural, Educational, National and Family Values. Patil was responsible for taking up the cause of IT Park in Belagavi. He cleared the private members bill during his tenure as an MLA for this purpose.

He was born in Belagavi in the year 1969 in a family of traditional landlords. Bharamagouda Patil and Bharamagouda Patil were his parents. His early education was done at his hometown itself. He later pursued technical education from Bharatesh Industrial Training Institute, Belagavi. He is married to Preeti and has two children. He is known for supporting traditional family values. He was deeply inspired by his mother’s devotion to religious faith, which deeply rooted in his mind to follow culture and traditions.

During his academic years, he was active in politics and was a student leader showing leadership skills. He was also involved with social activities. Following Ram Mandir movement which created great waves across the nation, he decided to choose a life of Social activism and work. He joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and later became a part of Bharatiya Janata Party. His first stint with politics happened in 1999, when he unsuccessfully contested state assembly elections. However he got elected as MLA thrice later.
