Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi – The glamour dolls of Bollywood of 1970s till middle 1980s. Both have their own distinct features and have conquered Bollywood with their distinct style and mesmerizing beauty. Both have involved in many controversies too, relating to their co-heroes or roles they acted on screen. If you check the entertainment media and fashion quotient during 1970’s, no doubt these two ladies have broken the Indian tradition of sari cladded heroines of Bollywood with ‘Pallu’ on head and ‘Bindi’ on forehead. Though both have acted a few roles in Indian tradition and proved their versatility, fans love to remember both for the glamour roles they played on screen most.

Zeenat Aman entered Bollywood as the innocent younger sister of Dev Anand singing ‘Phoolon ka taron ka’ and later singing ‘Hare Krishna’ with a group of hippies, drug addicted. Though it was not pictured in the movie, she singing ‘Phoolon ka taro ka’, people loved her as younger sister. Directly landing from Miss.India title and modeling world, very soon she became the latest sensation of Bollywood through the glamour roles she played later. Yaadom ki baraat and its songs played significant role in placing her among the top list of Bollywood. After that she was type casted in roles similar to it. She was able to break that image through the traditional glamour-less role she played in Raj kapoor’s Satyam Sivam Sundaram. But she was surrounded by a lot of controversies too.

Parveen Babi’s entry to Bollywood was not too big; but she gained momentum slowly. After a series of flops, she began to touch the sweetness of success with a series of Amitabh Bachchan movies. Big hits of Amitabh Bachchan during the second half of 70’s and early 80’s belong to this lady too. But later they split and she even told the media that he tried to kill her. Thus she was also in the media for the controversies related to Big B. There were even stories about romantic link up of these two actors.

Zeenat Aman or Parveen Babi – If we need to take the name of just one person, no doubt it’s Zeenat Aman for her glamour quotient. She had followers more than Parveen Babi and had played distinct roles more than Parveen. So, in true sense, she was most popular during the decade of 1975 to 1985.
