Jaipur weather can be classified as extreme weather. Weather in Jaipur is very hot during summers and very cold during winters. Jaipur has three distinct seasons: summers, monsoons and winters. Jaipur climate is hot and semi-arid.

The main seasons of Jaipur are:

Summer

Jaipur weather becomes extremely hot during summers. The summer begins from Mid-March and continues till June. Weather in Jaipur is tremendously dry during summers. Temperatures often reach 45°C. It is the worst season to visit this place as summers are characterized by shining sun throughout the day. During the day, hot dry winds blow known as ‘loo’. Thus, people are advised to increase their intake of fluids during this season to avoid dehydration. People are also advised to cover their head when they go out in the heat. It is also advisable to apply sunscreens while going out.

Monsoon

Jaipur weather becomes very humid during monsoons. Monsoon season starts from June and continues till September. Monsoons witness thunderstorms and heavy rains. However, it usually does not flood during monsoons. However, the roads get logged after rains. Although, some people say that monsoons bring relief from the summers, but, weather in Jaipur does not change much during monsoons. This is because of the fact that rainfall is scanty in this place. The annual rainfall is recorded to be 650 mm.

Winter

Jaipur experiences winter in the months of October to March. However, it cannot be denied that October is not a very cold month. In fact, after retreating of monsoons in September, Jaipur experiences October Heat. During Octobers, it is very hot and humid. As the month of November approaches, it starts getting cooler. The average temperature here lies in the range of 15-18°C. The weather may be pleasant during daytime. However, it is freezing cold at night. At times, the temperature, even dips down to 5°C. During early morning, one can even witness thick fogs. If you want to visit Jaipur in winters, you should carry thick woolens with you.

Spring

Many people believe that Jaipur has 4 seasons rather than 3 i.e. summer, monsoon, winter and spring. Spring commences in February and continues till mid-March. This is the ideal season to visit this place as the weather is neither too hot not too cold. The temperature ranges between 20-25°C. It is not very sunny during this period. However, the nights are a bit chilly. This is the best time to roam around in Jaipur and see the historical monuments.
