India-England Test Series Gets Underway From Wednesday

India and England get ready for the first Test match starting this Wednesday. This will be a real test for the Indian batsmen who will once again be playing in difficult conditions away from home. They have played in such conditions before when they toured Down Under.

India will play its full strength team against England when the two teams meet each other at Nottingham for the first Test match. A lot of predictions and statements regarding the run up to the Test matches are doing the rounds at the moment. When on one hand some people feel that India can beat the tough conditions, some say that it will not be easy for them to bowl out England twice in one match.

Even though England have the advantage of home conditions, it will not be easy for them to tackle the Indian bowling. One of the reasons is the form of Captain Cook. Even former England bowler Ashley Giles feels that the form of the England captain is an issue for them to sort out.

The Indian strategy to tackle the English batsmen will be using at least five bowlers. These include Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and the youngster Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the pace attack. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will always be around to take care of the spin department.

Due to a poor batting form in the recent matches, Rohit Sharma may not be in the playing eleven. Some reports are strongly suggesting that he may make way for Stuart Binny. This looks more of a possibility, which may land Binny his first Test cap. It only remains to be seen in which match he makes his debut for India.

As far as the Indian batting is concerned, a lot will depend on the ever-dependable Virat Kohli. He should get the much needed support from Cheteshwar Pujara, who is the Test specialist in the squad – tagged as the replacement to Rahul Dravid.

Pankaj Singh is the new face in the squad, while we will also get to see some of Wriddhiman Saha. As the Indian team is always known to be a batting team, as usual they will have to perfom with MS Dhoni being at the helm.

This Test series of five Tests will bring out the best out of both teams and for the next few days, it will be cricketing carnival, at least for the supporters of these two teams.
