1. Kolkata is famous for its handicrafts of eastern India, saris and leather goods. Also it is famous for the sweet Rasagulla and you may buy a tin or two back home. There are many popular shopping malls here that are worth visiting namely South City Mall, Metropolis Mall, Mani Square Supermall, Orchid Point, Forum Shreeram Arcade, Pantaloons, Metro Plaza, etc.

2. Visit one of the famous religious places here such as Kalighat, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Nakhoda Mosque, St. John’s Church, Jewish Synagogues, etc.

3. Take a walk along the river near Eden Garden. You can avail cheap ferry service and reach to the other side of the river and back just to enjoy the ride.

4. At Outram Ghat you can try the boat cruise in small boats there. Cruising under the stars at night time will be a unique adventure.

5. Stroll down the memory lane at Princep Ghat and you will be able to enjoy the sights of local people and their culture.

10. It will be a great time to visit Kolkata during Durga Puja festival and this is the biggest festival of Hindus living in Bengal and Eastern India. The city will be overcrowded at this time.
