Rabindra Sarobar is also known as Dhakuria Lake and this is an artificial lake situated in the south of Kolkata. 73 acres are covered by water and has many shrubs and trees around it making it one of the popular recreational areas in Kolkata. Many walkers and joggers prefer this place to enjoy the fresh air in the mornings. There is a football stadium, an open air theatre and a Japanese Buddhist temple located at this place.

On the west banks of the lake you can find cannons that were excavated during 1920s. The safari garden and the children’s play center with lily pool and a swimming pool add beauty to this place. There are many rowing and swimming clubs situated within its complex. Rabindra Sarovar Stadium is an auditorium adjoining it.
