Eden Gardens is the popular cricket ground in Kolkata and many one day, test and Twenty20 matches have been held here. When looking at its seating capacity, this is the largest cricket stadium in India and the second largest of its kind in the world. It could hold up to 68,000 people and it was established in the year 1864. Many historic cricket events including Kapil Dev’s ODI and Harbhajan Singh’s ODI and VVS Laxman’s score of 281 have taken place at this soil. It was renovated for 2011 Cricket World Cup.
