Birla Planetarium is built in the architectural style of Buddhist stupa and was inaugurated in 1963 by Jawaharlal Nehru. It has a laboratory for electronics and an astronomy gallery that has a big collection of paintings and models of celestial objects. The astronomical observatory has Celestron C-14 Telescope and has more than 100 astronomical projects for the students and the public. The programs are conducted every day in different languages.
