Asutosh Museum of Indian Art is located within the premises of the University of Calcutta. It was established in the year 1937 and could be said as the first public museum that had been established in any Indian University. Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee served as the Vice Chancellor of this university for ten years and it was established in his memory.
