Chandigarh is a young city in the Northern part of India, a Union Territory in the Indian subcontinent and the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana. The magnificent garden has within its confines impressive art objects, sculptures, statues, waterfalls, pools and trees emanating into a perfect fanciful world where people can enjoy the beauty of nature. It is frequented by a large number of tourists every year.

 

The Sukhna Lake is a man made reservoir that will surely intoxicate you with the kind of overwhelming ambience it offers. With the scenic Shivalik mountain ranges forming the background the place is apt for relaxing, savouring the natural splendour, meditating, rejuvenating etc. And the lake offers plenty of water related activities to the tourists like boating, yachting and water skiing. The lake is 3 km long, developed in the year 1958.

 

The awesome Capitol complex which houses the headquarters of the Government of Punjab and the Government of Haryana exemplifies the contemporary architecture in all its magnificence. There are three main buildings within its premise; the legislative assembly, the high court and the secretariat. Each of the three buildings is an architectural wonder

 

Another interesting place to visit in Chandigarh is the International Dolls Museum. Situated in Bal Bhavan in sector 23 the museum is home to more than 300 dolls collected from all over the world. If you are visiting Chandigarh with your kids then this place is a must visit.
