Vinod Kambli Biography 
Vinod Kambli is a former batsman of Indian cricket team who played international matches during 1990’s. He is childhood friend of the Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and their record partnership of 664 runs in a school match is still to be broken. They created the record playing for Shardashram Vidya Mandir against St. Xavier's in Harris Shield on February 24, 1988. Before their coach Acharekar forced the pair to declare, Kambli had already scored 349 runs. It was that match that brought both these youngsters to limelight and together they have played for Indian team till 1996. The lost WC Semifinal match at Eden gardens was one of their last matches played together.
His full name is Vinod Ganpat Kambli. He was born on 18 January 1972 in Mumbai. He belongs to Indira Nagar, Kanjurmarg, suburb of Mumbai. Kambli was one of the best over-the-top hitters of spin bowling and he is a left hand batsman. Occasionally he bowls for his team as well. Vinod Kambli entered Ranji team soon after his record partnership with Sachin. He scored more runs than Sachin in that match. Very soon, he reached Indian team also, following Sachin. He debut test in the match against England on 1992 at Eden Gardens.
Vinod has played 17 tests and 104 ODIs for Indian team. He has also played 129 First Class Cricket matches. He owns a good record in test matches and usually plays in middle order. He scored a total of 1084 runs from 17 test matches at an average of 54.2. His innings include 4 centuries of which two are double centuries. He has also scored 3 50’s. His highest score in test matches is 227. Kambli has scored 2477 runs from 104 matches at an average of 32.59. It includes two centuries and 14 half centuries. On 15 August 2009, Kambli launched his Khel Bharti Sports Academy. Kambli also appears in reality shows and television shows. He is married to former model – Andrea Hewitt.
