Venu Srinivasan Biography 
Venu Srinivasan is an industrialist and business executive who currently serves as the Chairman of TVS Motors. He is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Sundaram Clayton Ltd. He is the Srinivasan is the grandson of the TVS Group's founder, T. V. Sundaram Iyengar. He is the Honorary Consul General of Republic of Korea and serves as a member of Indian prime minister’s Council on Trade & Industry. As an industrialist he has served many decorative positions and is also the Chief Trustee in the Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, one of the famous temples of south India. At present TVS Motor Company is the third largest two wheeler manufacturer in India. He has also served as the as the president of CII for 2009-10, proceeded by ICICI bank chairman K V Kamath. Venu is married to famous businesswomen and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TAFE, Mallika Srinivasan.
He is an engineer with a Masters' degree in management from Purdue University, USA. Before that he took an Engineering degree from University of Madras too. He became the Managing Director of Sundaram Clayton Ltd in 1979. He became the Chairman of TVS Motor Company in 2002. In the late 1980’s the company got into a serious labour trouble and Venu closed the factory for a period of 3 months. Then he re-structured the whole organization to give it a new format.
He invested huge amount of money to upgrade the technology as well as the machinery used. He also implemented TQM practices and sought the help of Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya. In 2001 when the parent company got split the company entered into independent production and launched their new product, TVS Victo which became a huge hit. For his achievements, he was awarded with Honorary Doctorate in Science for Excellence in Manufacturing by University of Warwick in 2004. In 2010, he received the prestigious Padma Shri from Government of India.
