Saqib Saleem Biography

Saqib Saleem is a Bollywood actor and a model. He is the younger brother of top model and Bollywood actress, Huma Qureshi. His full name is Saqib Saleem Qureshi. Saleem made his film debut in 2011 Y-Films romantic comedy film Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. Later he appeared in comedy -   Mere Dad Ki Maruti and also played a role in anthology movie, Bombay talkies. He appeared in lead role in the short film, Ajeeb dastan hai yeh directed by Karan Johar. He played the role of a young homosexual man, who gets infatuated by his co-worker's husband. Co-worker role was played by Rani Mukherjee. His upcoming project is Amol Gupte's Hawaa Hawaai, where he plays the role of a skating coach.

Saqib Saleem was born into a Muslim family in Delhi. His father Saleem Qureshi is a restauranteur, and runs a chain of 10 restaurants called Saleem's in Delhi. His mother, Ameena Qureshi is a house wife. He has three siblings of whom Huma Qureshi is a noted Bollywood actress and model. He assisted his father in his business for a short period during college days. But he was not at all interested. His dream was to become a model and actor and starting modelling during college days itself. He moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams.

Saqib started his career with Cricket playing for Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. After reaching Mumbai, he started accepting television commercials. Pepsi (with actor Ranbir Kapoor), Tata Docomo, Bar One, KFC and Sprite are a few among those. His close friend, fashion designer Varun Bahl helped him to get a chance for the audition of YRF’s Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. It was his break to big screen. Later he appeared in Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013) marking his successful debut.
