Sandhya Mridul Biography

Sandhya Mridul is an Indian film actress known for supporting roles in Saathiya (2002), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007) and Page 3 (2005). She frequently appeared in television serials before entering movies and now also, she appears in reality shows. She was first runner up on the reality dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (Season 2) in 2007. Like many television/film actors of 1990’s and early 2000’s, she too made small screen debut through Doordarshan daily soap – Swabhimaan (1995) which later gave her ticket to Bollywood.

Sandhya Mridul, shortly known as Sandy was born in Mumbai on March 28, 1975. She did her schooling at Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School, Jaipur. She lost her father when she was only 14 and later she was brought up by her brothers. She attended Lady Sriram College, Delhi from where she took graduation in Mathematics. Later she did post graduation in marketing and went on to do a corporate job with KLM in Mumbai. She reached Mumbai to become marketing executive. But destiny was something else and she made her small screen debut with Swabhimaan. Later she made appearance in television serials like Hamen Jahan Pyar Mile, Banegi Apni Baat, Aashirwaad, Hubahu and Koshish. She also appeared in popular television soap of Sony entertainment television, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin where she played the character role of Yana.

In 2002, she debut silver screen with Saathiya, remake of Tamil flick, Alaippayuthey. She played Rani Mukerji’s elder sister’s role in Saathiya. She also appeared in a meaty role in National award winning movie, Page 3. In both these movies, she played supporting actress roles. She played air hostess role in Page 3, aside Konkona Sen Sharma and Tara Sharma. Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. and The Great Indian Butterfly also need special mention. Other noted movies include - Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II, Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye, Hum Tum Aur Ghost, Force, Ragini MMS: 2, Socha Na Tha and Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante.
