Konkona Sen Sharma Biography
Konkana Sen Sharma is an Indian actress who focuses on Indian arthouse and independent films. She entered the film industry as a child artist and made her way to become an actress. She has won many awards for her skills in acting.
Konkana Sen was born on 3rd December 1979 in New Delhi in India. Her father is Mukul Sharma, a science writer and journalist and her mother is Aparna Sen, an actress and film director. She has one elder sister named Kamalini Chatterjee. Chidananda Dasgupta, her maternal grandfather is a famous film critic who co-founded the Calcutta Film Society.
Sen Sharma completed her schooling at Modern High School for Girls at Calcutta and at Calcutta International School. Then she joined Lady Shriram College at Delhi and obtained her bachelor’s degree in English in 2001. She was in love with the actor Ranvir Shorey since 2007 and they got married on 3rd September 2010 and has a baby born on 15th March 2011 named Haroon Shorey.
Sen Sharma entered the film industry as a child artist through the film Indira in 1983. Her first film in the adult character was Ek Je Aachhe Kanya and she played negative role in that. She acted in her mother’s English film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer. This was a major success and got her national award. Her film in 2005 Page 3 also won national film award.
She has performed in more than 30 films in her career and also took part in the program The Blue Mug of Atul Kumar together with Ranvir Shorey, Sheeba Chadha, Rajat Kapoor and Vinay Pathak in June 2009.
