Rohit Gupta Biography

Rohit Gupta is a film maker, screenwriter and editor of Indian origin, who currently resides in US. His debut full length movie, ‘Life! Camera Action... & Another Day Another Life’ is his critically acclaimed work which earned him appreciation worldwide. Midnight Delight is his upcoming project. He made his directorial debut with 2009 short film, Another Day Another Life. He served as its editor and producer too. He made a short film, Just Do It! in 2011, followed by his masterpiece work - ‘Life! Camera Action... & Another Day Another Life’.

He was born in Mumbai in a business family. He completed MBA degree from Wingate University in North Carolina and later joined NYFA for a short term film making course. He just wanted to know the reality behind camera and had not at all seriously thought about it earlier. His class assignments gave him more interest in film industry and he made up his mind to join the world of cinema. Another Day Another Life – was his first short film which was the official entry to Cannes Film Festival in 2009. It encouraged Gupta a lot and inspired him to make his first full length feature film.

He dropped out of NYFA to do his first feature film, ‘Life! Camera Action... & Another Day Another Life’.  It was an experimental film. This family drama was a commercial success and earned him critics’ acclaim as well.  The movie received numerous awards & nominations across the globe and also entered Limca Book of Records. The movie starred Dipti Mehta, Shaheed Woods, John Crann and Swati Kapila in lead roles and it is the story of a young girl to pursue her dreams to become a film maker.
