Dipti Mehta Biography

Dipti Mehta is an American film actress of Indian origin best known for the portrayal of Reina in ‘Life! Camera Action...’. It was her first movie in lead role and it happened to be the debut movie of Indian-born director, Rohit Gupta. Her performance in the movie bagged her numerous awards including Goldie Film Awards, Prestige Film Awards and Sunset International Film Festival. She also won multiple nominations at many international awards. The movie also gave multiple awards for its director. Dipti has done cameo appearance in many Bollywood movies.

She was born in Ahmedabad and raised in Mumbai. Her family originally belongs to Rajasthan. Now she is based in NYC.  Her talents were noticed first by a program executive at an elocution competition of AIR when she was only 12. Later she started her career hosting shows for All India Radio. Her career as radio jockey began with Delhi FM station. She holds master in Microbiology and also has earned a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona. She was associated with theater during his college days and is a trained Bharatanatyam and Kathak dance forms.

Her professional career began with Gujarati plays and later she joined FM Mumbai which earned her recognition.  She hosted a yoga show "Arogya Sampada" on Zee International and has also co-hosted ‘Yoga for You’. She has also appeared in a few television serials. She attended the auditions for in ‘Life! Camera Action...’ and won the female lead role which earned her recognition globally. Apart from her career as a stage actress, she is also a playwright. The play "Grahan" won her many awards as a writer.
