Radhika Pandit Biography

Radhika Pandit is a successful actress from Karnataka. She plays lead roles in movies as well as television. She made her film debut in the 2008 film Moggina Manasu and has won a hat-trick at Filmfare awards winning best actress award thrice in a row. She has established herself as a leading contemporary actress of Kannada cinema and the only Kannada actress till now to claim a hat-trick in Filmfare best actress award category. She also owns several commercial hit movies in Kannada.

Radhika was born in a Konkani Speaking Community of Saraswat Brahmin at Shirali near Uttara Kannada District. She completed her high school education at Cluny Convent High School and college education from Mount Carmel College. She acted in Kannada tele-serials, "Nandagokula" and "Sumangali", before making a magical debut in movies. Her debut movie, Moggina Manasu won her both Filmfare as well as State awards for best actress. In 2009, for the movie Olave Jeevana Lekkachaara, she received Innovative Film Award for Best Actress. Same year she won Filmfare best actress award for Love Guru.

In 2010, the movie Krishnan Love Story fetched her Udaya Award for Best Actress and Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada. Same movie presented her Big Award for Best Most Entertaining Actress also. Hudugaru (2011) and Addhuri (2012) gave her a nomination the following years though she was not able to win. Addhuri gave her Udaya Award for Best Actress and nomination at SIIMA award function also. She has acted only in Kannada movies till now and her other movies are Kaddipudi, Dilwala, Bahaddoor, Gaana Bajaana, Alemari, 18th Cross, Sagar, Drama and Breaking News. Her upcoming project is Mr. & Mrs. Ramachari and scheduled to get released in 2014.
