Pamela Chopra Biography

Pamela Chopra is a playback singer of Bollywood. But she is better known as the wife of great Bollywood film maker, Yash Chopra and mother of Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra. Bollywood actress Simi Garewal's mother, Darshi is her sister. She occasionally appears in movies under Yash Raj films banners and has done cameo appearance in a few directed by late Yash Chopra. She is also known as a producer and co-writer of scripts and she has assisted her husband throughout his life, since their marriage happened in 1970’s. She has done playback singing from Kabhi kabhi to Mujhse dosti karoge. She married Chopra in the year 1970. She has appeared alongside her husband in the opening song, Ek duje ke vaasthe for the movie, Dil to pagal hai (1997).

As a playback singer, her popular tracks include – Ghar aaja pardesi of Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge, "Surkh Jode Ki Yeh Jagmagahat" of Kabhi kabhi, Angna Ayenge Sanvariya of Doosra aadmi, "Meri Maa Ne Laga Diye" of Darr, "Ja Ri Bahena Ja" of Trishul, "Ashiq Ho To Aisa Ho" and "Uske Khel Nirale" of Noorie, "Jaggaya Jaggaya" of Kaala pathar, "Banno Ki Aayegi Baraat" of Aaina, "Khudse Waada Kiya" of silsila, "Idhar Aa Sitamgar" of Sawaal, "Main Sasural Nahi Jaaungi" of Chandni, Medley of Mujhse dosti karoge and Parody song of Lamhe.

She has acted as the associated producer for movies - Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Veer Zaara, Mujhse dosti karoge and Mohabbatein. She has co-written the script of super hit romantic experience - Dil To Pagal Hai and Kabhi kabhi. She acted as the co-producer as well. The movie, Aina was produced by Pamela. Other roles include dress designing, that she has done for – Kabhi kabhi and Sawaal.
