Nikesha Patel Biography

Nikesha Patel is a British Indian model and film actress who appears in south Indian movies. She has acted in all south Indian languages – Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. In 2012, she was nominated for SIIMA Award for Best Female Debutant for her wonderful performance in her Kannada debut movie – Narasimha. Telugu movie, Puli released in 2010 marked her onscreen debut. She is to debut Malayalam with ‘Newsmaker’ and Tamil with ‘Thalaivan’ are both these movies are set to release in 2014. Her other upcoming movies include – Telugu flick ‘Rambha Urvasi Menaka’, Kannada movie, ‘Namaste Madam’ and Tamil movies, YennamoYedho and Narathan.

Nikesha Patel was born to a Gujarati family in UK. She was brought up in UK where she completed her education. She was a finalist in the 2006 Miss Wales beauty pageant. She studied an acting diploma course in Peter Woolridge’s acting school. In three years, she had to attempt 7 times to get admission in the school. She was rejected the first 6 times. She has been associated with BBC at the age of 15 and has appeared in TV shows like Casualty, Tracy Beaker and Doctor Who. Bollywood filmmaker Dev Anand offered her a film role in Hindi. But the movie got shelved.

In 2010, she debut big screen with Telugu movie, Puli. She played lead role opposite star actor, Pawan Kalyan in this movie. Her character name was Madhumathi. But this big-budget movie was a box office disaster. The film received bad opinion from critics too, except for its action scenes. In 2013, Varadhanayaka was released. In this movie, she got opportunity to work with Sudeep, Chiranjeevi Sarja and Sameera Reddy. The movie received mixed reviews.
