Nargis Fakhri is better known as an American fashion model. But for Bollywood fans, she is Ranbir Kapoor’s co-star in the movie Rock star. Being a very successful model, she tried her luck in Bollywood at the age of 32. Perhaps it is the first time in Bollywood an actress debut in a movie as heroine with age 30+. Rock star was her debut movie. Though her beauty and style were well appreciated she couldn’t prove herself to be a good actress with her debut movie, though Rock star was a hit. Whole credits went to its hero, Ranbir Kapoor who accumulated all awards in award functions. She was also romantically linked with Ranbir Kapoor though they turned out to be just rumour soon after the release of the movie.

Nargis Fakhri was born to Pakistani father and Czech mother. She was born in New York in the year 1979. But she witnessed the divorce of her parents during her early childhood. She was just six or seven when her parents parted and she has never visited Pakistan till now. She began modeling during her early 20’s. In 2004 she has appeared in America's Next Top Model Cycles 2 and 3. In 2009, she posed in King Fisher annual calendar too. Very soon, her debut movie ‘Rock star’ got released in the year 2011.

In Rock star, she portrayed a college girl named Heer Kaul, later diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. The chemistry between Ranbir and Nargis was well appreciated and she won ‘Hottest pair of the year’ along with Ranbir Kapoor at IIFA. The movie starts with an open stadium concert of Ranbir Kapoor as a rock star and ends with a silent knot. The movie reveals the death of Heer Kaul and her last moments with Janardhan (Ranbir).

Apart from Rock star, she is now working in 3 film contract of Akshay Kumar’s production company, Hari om productions. Madras Cafe, Mein tera hero and Shaukeen are yet to release. She has also done special appearance in 'Phata poster nikla hero’, movie released in the year 2013. Now Nargis Fakri is working on the Board of Advisors for ‘MindShare Ventures Group’, a New York City-based company.
