Mohan Jose Biography

Mohan Jose is a popular actor of Malayalam known for character and supporting roles. He is the son of famous vocalist Pappukutty Bhagavathar. Playback singer Selma George is his sister. Film director K. G. George is his brother-in-law. This actor came to Malayalam film industry as a villain and became equally successful as a character artist and comedian. He is now active in film industry doing character roles.

Though his actor has acted in only around 100 movies in a career spanning to more than 3 decades, he has been able to give a handful of memorable roles throughout his career. He has eben selective in his roles. That’s the reason why he has appeared in lesser number of movies. Apart from movies, he has also acted in more than 10 mega serials. Nair Saab, Aye Auto, Lelam, Rajavinte Makan, New Delhi, Crime File, Nerariyan CBI, Black, Roudram, Bhoomiyile Rajakkanmar and Crazy Gopalan are his memorable roles.

He was born in Vypin, Ernakulam and his childhood days were spent at his maternal home, Thiruvalla. His childhood days were spent in solitude as there was no else in the home except his grandparents and a cat. After the seventh standard, he returned to Ernakulam where he completed his studies. It was during his studies at Santacruz school that he got involves with activities related to art and theatre. He was a government servant at Mumbai for 15 years before entering cinema. He marked his onscreen debut through 1980 movie, Chamaram and appeared in movies Justice Raja, Raajaavinte Makan, Lekhayude Maranam Oru Flashback, Adaaminte Variyellu, Dinarathrangal, New Delhi etc. Later he moved to Chennai so that he could completely concentrate in acting.
