Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy Biography

Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy is a popular fictional Telugu writer, famous for his stories and novels. Many of his stories and novels have been adapted to big screen. As a fictional writer he is best known for thrillers. He has worked as an auditor in Government audit office in Hyderabad. However he resigned his secure job to become a full-time writer. Ganeshana Maduve , Gauri Ganesha, Jyothi Lakshmi and Nanendu Nimmavane – popular Kannada movies are screen adaptions of Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy’s fictional work. Popular film director Phani Ramachandra adapted three of his popular novels to big screen. His thriller novel, Mr V was later made into movie, Jhansi Rani.

Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Malladi Dakshinamurty and Malladi Saradamba are his parents. He is married to Padmaja. He graduated from Andhra University in 1969. For the next three years he worked in private sector under different companies, before taking the job of an auditor in Government audit office in Hyderabad. He resigned from his job in 1986 to become a full-time writer. In the next three decades, he published over 150 novels, and earned recognition through thrillers.

Apart from novels and short stories, he has also authored humorous books such as Navvula Ravvalu, Drinking jokes, Chirunavvuku chirunaama, Jokulaasthami, Neade navvandi, Smile please, Chidvilaasam and Haasyaanadam. He has authored around 15 travelogues which include - Travelogue America, Travelogue Europe, Americalo marosaari, Travelogue Spain & Portugal, Travelogue Jordan & Egypt, Travelogue Japan etc.  Apart from a few original short story collections, he has also translated a few. Jarigina Katha and Navala Venuka Katha are his biography works. Most of his works are published by Lipi Publications.
