Lalthuammawia Ralte Biography

Lalthuammawia Ralte is an Indian professional footballer from Champhai, Mizoram. He is associated with professional matches since 2011, and has played for the Indian football clubs such as Shillong Lajong, Bengaluru FC, NorthEast United etc. He plays for Indian Super League - professional football league in India. He plays as a goalkeeper for FC Goa in the Indian Super League. He is nicknamed Mawia. In 2018 Lalthuammawia Ralte rejected Delhi Dynamos’ offer to join FC Goa. The former Bengaluru FC shot-stopper has been roped in on a free transfer with a two-year contract. He has earlier played three seasons for Bengaluru FC since 2014.

 

Lalthuammawia Ralte was born on 28 November 1992 in Champhai, Mizoram. His professional career started in 2011 when he was signed by the newly promoted club Shillong Lajong to play in the I-League, and he played his first match against Churchill Brothers on 17 September 2011 in the 2011 Indian Federation Cup. But Shillong Lajong lost the match. He helped the club to reach the semi-finals of the Federation Cup against Salgaocar, but the team couldn’t make it to finals.

 

After the end of contract with Shillong Lajong, he played his first I-league match signing with Bengaluru FC. He played his first match against Dempo in January 2015, and made 20 more appearances in the league. In 2015 Indian Super League, he played for NorthEast United FC. In 2017 he replaced Gurpreet Singh Sandhu for Bengaluru FC's game against NorthEast United, following his ligament injury. Till 2017, he played 66 applications in I-league, apart from 7 in Federation Cup and 3 in Durand Cup, summing a total of 85.
