Keerthi Reddy Biography

Keerthi Reddy is a former south Indian actress who has appeared in a few Hindi films as well. In 2000, she made her entry to Bollywood opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Tera jaadu chal gaya. It was followed by Pyar ishq aur mohabbat and Badhai ho badhai. She played lead roles in all these three movies. However all these movies flopped at box office, though they were noticed for the good looks of Keerthi as well as melodious chartbuster songs. After that she didn’t appear in any Hindi movie. She has been an established actress in South Indian movies before making her Bollywood debut. She got married to actor Sumanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni's nephew in 2004 and took break from the industry. However the couple separated in 2006 and Keerthi remarried. Now she is settled with her family life.

Reddy was born on November 17, 1978. Her father is an interior designer and mother is a costume designer. Her grandfather Ganga Reddy was a famous politician and parliamentarian. She was born in Hyderabad and raised in Bangalore, where she completed her education. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who went training for 8 years. In 1996, she made her debut through Telugu movie, Gunshot and the following year, she made her Tamil film entry through Devathai. She was paired opposite Vineeth and the movie was an average grosser at box office. The movie received critics’ appreciation and her portrayal of character was praised.

After that she worked in both these film industries in parallel till she made her Bollywood debut in 2000. Jolly, Iniyavale and Ninaivirukkum Varai are her Tamil movies. In 1999, she dropped two Tamil movies, Vali and Sethu which later became box office hits. In 2004, she received Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for the Telugu movie, Arjun. Ravoyi Chandamama, Preminche Manasu and Tholi Prema are her other Telugu movies.
